Apigee API Console on Dev.Twitter.com »
If you've been over at the Twitter Developers site recently, you might have seen their new Apigee API Console, which makes it easy to explore the API, send and view requests and responses, share what you are seeing and solve problems faster.
Twitter launched the API Console along with some great updates to the Twitter libraries page and a refresh of the resources documentation.
We hope you like the new Twitter console and if you want one for your own API, check out Apigee To-Go - it's free!
Three APIs We Love… Now With API Consoles »
One of the best parts of our job is getting to talk to people who make awesome APIs. Since we launched Apigee To-Go, which lets API providers quickly create, brand and embed their own API Console, we've gotten to meet a lot more. Here are three of our recent favorites and their Consoles so you can get started playing. APIs for the device network, TV and movie recommendations, and capturing moments inside movies and music. And if you're using Apigee To-Go, let us know on Twitter and let's chat.
Isidorey, device cloud platform. Isidorey is doing some really cutting-edge stuff around the Internet of Things and the device-driven web. With so many devices needing to connect to business apps, companies need to worry about security, scalability, data storage - so many things! Isidorey provides a cloud platform that handles infrastructure, configuration, security, scale and more to make it easier to manage and access the device network. Of course they have a RESTful API that you can play with - they are using the Apigee API Console right in their docs page!
Trakt.tv, TV show and movie recommendation service. Trakt.tv offers a really neat platform that can automatically record what movies and shows you watch, share them with others, and give you recommendations on other content you might like. They also have some awesome data on trending content. For us, of course, the best part is their API. They've got an Apigee API Console so you can play around with it.
Everytime- to bookmark any moment. Created by Guillaume Fradin, Everytime is a service to let you "bookmark" any moment inside movies, music and images. Youtube, Vimeo, local files and videos, things you are working on with your team, can all be saved, rearranged, shared. We really like the concept of letting you capture these "idea snapshots".... and we love the beautiful video that goes with it. Everytime also offers a cool API you can now explore with the Apigee Console.
Apigee API Console on the Zappos Developer Portal »
If you follow our blog, you already know that we're big fans of the Zappos API - we recently even wrote a post about how much we love it. So we're really excited to announce that Zappos has launched its own Apigee API Console on the Zappos Developer Portal.
The Zappos API lets you work with many features of the Zappos platform, including search, product details, user statistics and more... plus our favorite part, the Zappos Core Values. Using the shiny new Zappos API Console, you can view the full surface area of the API and all the methods, easily view request/response pairs, share your results and solve problems faster. Go check it out! You can also play with it right here on Apigee.com, along with other top APIs. Here's a video to get your started:
Zappos is using Apigee To-Go, which lets you create and brand your own API Console and embed it in your site. Try it out and let us know when you get it up and running for your API!
New GitHub API Console on Apigee.com »
![]()
Today we're launching a new API console on Apigee.com for GitHub, the code hosting and collaborative development platform. We use GitHub all the time and have gotten a bunch of requests from our users to see it in the console, so here it is - complete with Octocat logo in the drop-down menu. You can use the GitHub API Console to easily view requests and responses, authenticate in seconds, share what you are seeing with others and drill into errors.
GitHub's API gives you access to a bunch of useful stuff, like user and account information, team repos and members, commits and more. GitHub uses OAuth 2.0 and HTTP Basic - we support both in the console, and you only need to authenticate once for the entire session.
Go check it out and let us know your feedback using the shiny new feedback bar at the bottom. Or talk to us on Twitter. Or in our support forum. We just want to hear from you.
Apigee API Console: Control the APIs You See, Manage the Credentials You Use, and a Better Memory »
We've been hard at work figuring out how to improve developer's lives with the Apigee API Console. Today we're announcing three new features:
- An API page where you can choose which APIs appear in your Console, making it easier to work with just the APIs that are important to you.
- The ability to save and manage your credentials with API providers, so that you can quickly flip between accounts to test things like sending and receiving direct messages with the Twitter API.
- Lastly, we've long thought we could do a better job remember *you* so that when you return to Apigee you can pick right back up where you left off—just log in once and we'll make it easy.
To check out a better way to API, just create an account or log in. And remember you can now create your own console, too.
Apigee’s API Console Gets a Shiny UI/UX Upgrade »
In time for the holiday season, we've given the Apigee API Console a new look and some slick new features to make working with your favorite APIs better than ever.
Our API Consoles let you view API request/response pairs, view the surface area of an API, dig into errors and share what you are seeing to make learning and coding easier. We currently offer support for the Twitter, Facebook, SimpleGeo, PayPal, Foursquare, LinkedIn, Twilio, SoundCloud and (most recently) Salesforce APIs.
As some of you have already noticed, we've made some changes to improve your experience with the API Console:
- It's faster. We've rehauled our code to make it snappier to explore the APIs and get request and responses back in a flash.
- It's prettier. New icons, more color, cleaner lines and better typography.
- Expand/Collapse options on the method lists. We've added expand/collapse options to the method list to make it easier to see the surface area of larger APIs and get to the sections you need faster.
- Chose verb and test with one button. We've got a new button that lets you chose GET, PUT, POST or DELETE and send the request in record time.
- Auth and query box pair up! We've put the authentication options drop-down right next to the query box so you can log in and get booted up with ease.
We're constantly working on making your experience with APIs better and would love to hear your feedback, so shoot us a note on Twitter or visit our support site.
Apigee API Console for LinkedIn, PayPal, Foursquare, Twilio and SoundCloud APIs »
Today we launched the Apigee API Console for the LinkedIn, PayPal, Foursquare, Twilio and SoundCloud APIs. The API Console provides a really easy way to learn, debug and test the APIs by allowing you to view request and response pairs, drill into errors, and share code snapshots with others. We also support the Facebook, Twitter and SimpleGeo APIs.
Here's a video demo of the Foursquare API Console, and you can view more video demos at the end of this post.
The API Console is designed to make it as simple as possible to work with each API, with special features to get you up and running quickly:
- Support for basic, OAuth and custom token authorization schemes: We support OAuth to allow simplified authorization for the Foursquare, LinkedIn, SoundCloud, Facebook, Twitter and SimpleGeo APIs; HTTP basic and OAuth for the Twilio API and custom token support for the PayPal API. Authenticate once for the entire session!
- Syntax highlight and request auto-complete: The API Explorers list all API methods and auto-completes requests.
- Parameters pop-up: Developers can easily configure request parameters by using the Apigee parameters pop-up, designed to support simple experimentation for figuring out what is needed for apps and integrations.
- “Share” snapshot: Take a snapshot of API request/response pairs and share them with a unique URL for community debugging and support.
Our goal is to make better tooling for the API-driven Internet- better solutions for developers working with any API. We'd love to hear your feedback and find out which APIs you'd like to see in the Apigee API Console next- drop us a note on Twitter or check out our support site. You can use the API Console without signing up for an Apigee account, but get one here to get API analytics, rate-limiting, and debugging at a unique endpoint.

Explore the Facebook API and Simplify OAuth 2.0 »
We launched a new tool at Apigee- the API lifecycle management platform we offer free to the community. We've created a Facebook Graph API Console- a whole new way to interact with, learn and debug the Graph API that lets you easily view requests/responses to the API, share what you are seeing and dig into errors.
The console supports OAuth 2.0 so you can log in using your Facebook credentials- check out the video:
InsideFacebook has some great coverage by Josh Constine out today on the console and how it works; you can also hop over to the Apigee blog for more details.
The Apigee AwesomeBar- Work with APIs, Now More Awesome »
Here's a quick video on one of our favorite new features for the Apigee Facebook and Twitter API consoles- the AwesomeBar. This feature makes it easier to explore the APIs and their structure by making suggestions and offering auto-completion for method URLs.
Alex Williams from ReadWriteWeb just wrote up this feature and our new Facebook API console yesterday-thanks Alex!
